An all-time favorite Gottlieb machine... JOKER POKER! This game was produced in 1978 by Gottlieb, creator of some of the most popular pinball machines on the planet! This game is incredibly popular with players due to the classic Gottlieb drop-target style gameplay partnered with the ever-popular playing card theme. This game was actually created when Gottlieb was switching over from mechanical to digital based games and this game was a smash hit with it's 'new digital computer technology' which replaced the mechanical switches, steppers and relays of the older pinball machines. The fabulous Gordon Morrison artwork on this game makes it a delight to look at, even when you're not playing it. Most players and collectors agree that this game is one of the very best playing early digital Gottlieb games, possibly the best drop-target based game ever created.
Yes, this is a digital-scoring game, but it still has the old-school chime box! That's right, the sound system on this game isn't the rudimentary beeps and boops of most early digital games because Gottlieb decided to make it with their trademark percussion-chime unit. For each target you hit or point you score, enjoy the musical xylophone-like sounds that will emanate from the cabinet! Blast away at the FIFTEEN individual DROP-TARGETS trying to complete the poker hands and get your bonus ladder to soaring heights. Knock down enough targets and light up the SPECIALS! This is one GORGEOUS game! Most Joker Pokers were played to death with heavily worn playfields, broken plastics and targets, and badly damaged backglasses and cabinets. This one is a restored beauty! The playfield on this game is in excellent condition with very few worn areas. The original factory clearcoat still shines like glass! The plastics, pop-bumpers, drop-targets, lane guides, plastic posts and flipper bats are all brand new! Joker Poker backglasses are frequently severely flaked and suffer major paint loss. This backglass has some minor crazing, but still a beautiful original glass. The cabinet is in outstanding condition with minor blemishes and a few touch-ups.
