It was going to be part of this year’s European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona, which is usually one of the most popular stops on this tour. It is still uncertain whether international events will be allowed any time soon, so PokerStars has decided not to wait any longer and canceled the event. Even if times are uncertain, neither EPT Barcelona nor the PSPC was canceled completely. It seems to be that both events would be rescheduled to take place sometime in 2021, although no dates have been confirmed yet.
In an effort to compensate for the absence of this year’s live event, PokerStars will make use of this delay to run additional satellite packages known as Platinum Passes. An additional 80 passes will be granted for a total of 400.

The first edition of the PSPC was played in January 2019 at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas in an effort to give life again to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA). Listening to numerous complaints about the location of the event, PSPC looked for a new home. EPT Barcelona was chosen due to its popularity; however, since it runs in August, the second edition was held 19 months after the first one.
