Titanic Jack Wins Poker
Leonardo DiCaprio plays Jack Dawson who is our romantic hero. Jack wins his ticket on Titanic in what he calls 'a lucky hand of poker'. Jack falls for the upper class gal Rose.
In a poker game, they win two third-class tickets and dash to catch the boat. In contrast to a real third class passenger Jack has no qualms or difficulty in roaming the first class areas and ultimately meets the wealthy if matronly Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslett), they fall in love and consummate their affair moments before the Titanic. Jack wins 2 tickets to board the worlds biggest and most luxurious boat liner in the world. The poker game in question is with Jack and his friend Fabrizio, an Italian who we see is criticizing Jack for risking money in a hand which he’s never going to win. Kate Winslet plays Rose Dewitt Bukater who is our romantic heroine. Rose is an upper class gal and is extremely upset with the way her life is. Feeling very trapped she decided the only way out is suicide. She rushes past Jack heading toward the back of the boat, where she decides that she will jump. Jack sees this and talks her out of it - literally saving her life.
Billy Zane plays Cal Hockley sho is the villan of the story. Cal is the sort of guy that you would definately love to hate. He is Rose's fiance, and is heir to a Pittsburg steel fortune. After Jack saves Rose's life Cal invites him to dinner in the first class dining room hopeing to to embrass the Lower Class Boy, but unknown to Cal he is actually setting the scene for Jack and Rose's love.
Frances Fisher plays Ruth Dewitt Bukater. She is Rose's mother and her only conern is about their social standing. Ruth is against Rose spending too much time with no hoper Jack. As far as she is concerned Cal is a good catch for her daughter. To Ruth's disappointment she cannot stop the love between Rose and Jack.
Kathy Bates plays the part of Molly Brown. As far as Ruth is concerned Molly is of 'new money'. Molly is new to the upper class and doesn't always act the way 'upper class women' are meant to act. She takes a likeing to Jack and Rose and helps them wherever possible.
Bill Paxton plays the part of Brock Lovett. He is searching for the 'Heart of the Ocean' Diamond which Rose was wearing the day the Titanic went down. Rose makes contact with Brock when she sees on television of his mission. By the end Brock realises that the Diamond isn't as important as he originally thought.
Victor Garber plays the part of Thomas Andrews. He is the creator of the Titanic. When the Titanic begins to sink Andrews is appalled at the staff and the way they are trying to save people. He did die on the nite that the Titanic sunk.
Bernard Hill plays the part of Captain Edward J Smith. Captain Smith is pressured by Mr Ismay to try out Titanic's speed by going as fast as possible. Unfortunately the conditions at the time were not the best. The Captain tries desprately to save everyone when the Titanic strikes an Iceberg.
Jonathan Hyde plays the part of Bruce Ismay. He is the owner of the Titanic and is along for the ride of the maiden voyage of Titanic. He is also being pressured by everyone - 'TITANIC MUST MAKE HEADLINES'. And it did, but not the one's he was hopeing for. He did survive the disaster but two years later he retired and led a very secluded life.
Danny Nucci plays the part of Fabrizio De Rizzo. He is Jack's friend who also wins the ticket on board Titanic in a 'lucky' round of poker.
David Warner plays the part of Spicer Lovejoy. He is Cal's manservent. His main job on the Titanic is to keep his eye on Rose and report back to Cal.
Gloria Stuart plays the part of Rose Dawson Calvert. She is haunted by memories of what happened on the Titanic when she sees a newsreport showing the picture Jack drew of her many years ago. After contacting Brock she is taken with her Grand daughter to the Research Ship. This is where our story of Titanic begins.
Suzy Zmis plays the part of Lizzy Calvert. She is the Grand daughter of Rose Dawson Calvert. Lizzy goes with her Grand mother to the Research Ship.
